How does everything come together?

How exactly does data transfer work in your company?

Interfaces are a central point in every company.

This obviously raises the question, what exactly is an interface?

An interface can be explained by a simple example.

Let’s take a hotel, in which you have booked a room for one night. First of all your reservation is accepted and processed. Then you will receive a confirmation and look forward to your stay.

For the hotel, however, the real work starts now. The reservation department has to pass the information to the housekeeping about your arrival and your room preferences. Now the staff must ensure that your room is ready for occupancy and that you find it nice and clean.

Service and kitchen staff must also be informed about your arrival. Once you leave the hotel, the reservations department is responsible for cleaning your room and preparing it for the next guest.

An interface is simply the connection of two or more processes in a company. In this way, important information can be made available to several departments. If the wrong information is passed on, it could lead to serious problems and create unnecessary delays in the workflow.

How are the interfaces in your company structured and regulated?

How easy is it for your employees to access various pieces of information?

If responsibilities are not clearly defined, it will be difficult for your employees to find their way around. They will not know exactly what they are supposed to do or how a certain service is to be provided. Responsibilities are essential to be able to continue working successfully.

Let us look again at the case described above. For example, it would be fatal if the reservation department did not forward your arrival date and time to the housekeeping department. In this situation, you would arrive at your hotel to find there is no room available for you.

Do you frequently have confrontational situations in your company?

If this is the case, it is best to check each interface in order to find out the exact conditions for a successful collaboration. Only then can your company successfully manage all processes, everyone knows exactly where to start and what to do, and you always have a good overview

Goal

Well-functioning interfaces lead to excellent cooperation. Everyone knows exactly what he/she has to do and your company therefore maintains its strength and competitiveness.
